Antonia Campi (Sondrio, Italy 1921 - Savona, Italy  2019) was an Italian artist and ceramicist. Campi studied  sculpture  under Italian sculptor Francesco Messina at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. In 1947 she decided to work with pottery fired at high temperature as a mean of her expression, and in 1948 she joined the Società Ceramica Italiana based in Laveno. Guido Andlovitz, the company's artistic director, gave her carte blanche to start experimenting with ceramics. What she came up with is a groundbreaking series of objects with organic shapes and surrealistic inspiration that blurred the boundaries between art and design, converting her into one of the most revolutionary and provocative creative minds of the century. Her works can be seen in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the MoMA in New York, the Staatliches Museum in Munich, and the Museum of Modern Art in Philadelphia amongst others.
